The Patna Jesuit Youth Commission organized the “Summer Skill Development Program 2023 at Atmadarshan, Patna, from 23rd April to 8th May 2023. This was a residential program. We brought 48 intermediate completed youth (32 girls and 16 boys) from the rural areas. They were from the economically and socially backward class families. Fr.A.Prakash SJ, Sr.Monica SCN and Sr.Priya SCN accompanied the youth. We trained them in discipline and hard work. They followed a strict timetable. They were given classes on Spoken English, Writing Skills, Speech drills, English grammar, Biology and reasoning classes, motivational sessions and leadership skills training. Many trained persons were invited as the resource persons. We also had regular courses on Computer applications in the college computer lab. St.Xavier’s college of Management and Technology took care of the computer classes. We trained these youth mainly in four areas: 1. Spoken English, 2. Computer Certificate course, 3. preparing for the entrance exams, 4. Career guidance.
