The Jesuits of Patna, through its members in West Champaran initiated flood relief in Gaunaha block of the District. So through various collaborators, we have reached out to over 500 families from ten most affected villages especially, the socio-economically vulnerable groups. The villages already reached out with provisions are Marjadi, Meghauli, Baratwa, Bhitiharwa, Goitahi, Madhopur, Mithni Balua, Harpur Pipra, Rupawalia and Dhamoura. Another 10 villages would be reached sooner.

For the last two days a team of Jesuits, under the leadership of Fr. Donald Miranda visited a few villages, including Bairatwa, one of the worst hit by floods in Gaunaha block and Hariharpur, Navka Tola and Siswadi in Ramnagar block. Interventions are on in Gobaraya, Arohia, Ragia and Semrania villages in the Tharuhat area at the Indo-Nepal boarder. The relief work continues and people are welcome to contribute to flood relief.
